Processing

Harvest all the above herbs in mid-February; add 2 bowls of white wine and place them together in an earthenware pot. Simmer over low heat until all the liquid has evaporated. For external use, coating the affected area with a paste of ground agarwood and musk yields even better results.

Benefits

For paralysis, gangrene, and conditions characterized by foul odor and extreme debility.

Instructions for Use

Begin by taking 1 pill per dose; after 3 days, increase to 3 pills; after 5 days, increase to 5 pills; continue taking regularly. For patients whose fingers have been contracted, crippled, or bent for 5 years, take 2 jin; for 10 years, take 4 jin; cases lasting 20 years are untreatable. When taking the remedy, sit upright in a quiet, draft-free place to calm the mind. Wash your hands with a decoction of Chinese cypress and Sichuan pepper. The juice left over from boiling the jujubes makes an excellent topical ointment for treating abscesses and ulcers. Alternatively, grind the stems of honeysuckle (steamed and sun-dried) into a powder, mix it into pills, and take them—this is highly effective for surgical conditions and also beneficial for treating wind-related disorders.
