Formulas Name : Pestilence-Relieving Pill

Chinese Name : 解瘟丹

Drug Formulation

Half a jin of Atractylodes lancea, 2 liang of pure realgar, 4 liang of Angelica dahurica, 1 liang of Cinnamomum cassia, 4 liang of Artemisia argyi, 1 liang of Frankincense, 1 liang of Sandalwood, 1 liang of Atractylodes lancea, 1 liang of Alpinia officinarum, 1 liang of Amba wood, and 5 qian of sulfur.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Add 3 he of elm flour and red dates (boiled until soft, pitted), then mix with the elm flour and cook into a paste to form pills. Air-dry and store properly, ensuring they do not lose their potency. These must be prepared on the Dragon Boat Festival.

Instructions for Use

During times of epidemic, or around the Dragon Boat Festival and the Summer Solstice, burn 2–3 pills daily.
