Drug Formulation

1 Tiannanxing (weighing 9 qian or more. Dig a small pit in the ground, about 8 cun deep; heat charcoal until red-hot; pour half a zhan of genuine rice vinegar into the pit; immediately place the Tiannanxing inside; cover tightly with the hot charcoal; place a basin over the top; remove after one meal period; wash thoroughly; slice; and dry in an oven).

Instructions for Use

Take either 1 qian or 0.5 fen. For wind-induced epilepsy or liver-induced epilepsy, use 4 slices of fresh ginger and 5 perilla leaves; decoct them together, add a small amount of pig bile, and take the mixture; for frequent convulsions or heart-induced epilepsy, use 1 qian of ground amber, 1 qian of whole scorpion, and 0.5 fen of Acorus tatarinowii; mix them into a powder with ginger decoction and take orally;for milk stagnation or spleen-related epilepsy, use a small amount of croton seed powder and 3 apricot kernels; mix them together, prepare a powder with ginseng decoction, and take orally; for phlegm-induced lung epilepsy, use a small amount of soapberry powder; prepare a powder with sand ginseng decoction and take orally; for kidney-related epilepsy with rigidity, use 1 qian of dried black snake meat and 1 slice of processed Aconite root; prepare a powder with roasted ginger decoction and take orally.
