Chinese Name : 凤髓汤

Drug Formulation

1 jin of ox marrow (taken from the shin bone), half a jin of white honey, 4 liang of apricot kernels (peeled, tips removed, and ground into a paste), 4 liang of dried Chinese yam (stir-fried), and 4 liang of walnut kernels (shelled and ground separately).

Processing

Combine the beef marrow and white honey in a sandpot and bring to a boil; strain through silk to remove the dregs, then transfer to a porcelain jar. Add the three remaining ingredients (almonds, etc.) to the jar, seal the opening tightly with paper, and simmer in a double boiler for one day and one night. Remove and allow to cool and set.

Each morning, dissolve 1–2 spoonfuls in warm water and take.
