Formulas Name : Pomegranate Decoction
Chinese Name : 安石榴汤
Drug Formulation
2 liang of dried ginger (double the amount of fresh ginger), 1 liang of Phellodendron bark (finely sliced), 1 pomegranate (or 2 small ones), 2 liang of donkey-hide gelatin (ground separately and soaked).

For severe dysentery and white mucus accumulation, where the patient is critically ill and near death, and the bowels have already become loose.
Instructions for Use
Boil with 3 sheng of water until reduced to 1 sheng and 2 he; strain out the residue, add the donkey-hide gelatin and melt it, then take the entire dose at once. If the condition does not resolve, repeat the treatment. For emaciated patients, take the medicine in small, gradual doses; it is not necessary to consume the entire dose at once; take another dose shortly thereafter.
Note
Avoid sexual activity for 49 days.
