1 male pig’s stomach, 1 qian of areca nut, 1 qian of ipecac, 5 fen of cardamom, and 3 scallions.

Instructions for Use

Fill the stomach with a whole garlic clove, tie the opening with string, and simmer in a clay pot with wine until thoroughly tender. Remove the stomach and herbs; eat only the garlic and drink 2–3 cups of the broth. Shortly thereafter, flatulence will be continuously expelled through bowel movements, and the patient will gradually feel relief; urine will be yellowish.
