Processing

Except for the white alum, grind all the other ingredients into a fine powder. First, melt the white alum in an iron cauldron; then, sprinkle the powdered herbs over the molten alum. Wait until the smoke has completely dissipated, then remove the mixture and place it on the ground to remove the fire toxicity. Grind it again into an extremely fine powder, add 5 li of musk, 1 fen of toad venom, and 5 fen of mercury oxide, and grind them together until thoroughly mixed. Store the mixture in a bamboo tube.

Benefits

For sores and abscesses.

Instructions for Use

For each application, take a small amount of the powder. Pound it with glutinous rice into a medicated thread the thickness of a coarse-cloth needle, then bake it dry. If pus has already formed but there is no opening, use a three-edged needle to pierce it open, then slowly insert the medicated thread until the pain subsides. Externally, cut black sulfur paper into pieces the size of a coin, moisten them with saliva, and seal the affected area; the pus will dissolve on its own.If the ulcer has already become gangrenous, foul-smelling, and large, simply mix the powdered medicine with saliva and apply it to the inside and outside of the wound, then seal it with black iron paper.

Note

Whenever this method is used, a protective medicated bandage must be applied to safeguard the healthy tissue.
