Processing

Prepare the ingredients according to the prescribed method. Place the herbs in a jar and simmer in 40 jin of ash-free wine for the duration of three incense sticks. Remove the mixture and place it in a water tub, changing the water frequently. Soak for three days and nights, then pour the contents into a silk bag and filter thoroughly.Take the herbal residue and simmer it again in 20 jin of wine for 3 incense sticks’ worth of time, as before. Remove it, place it in a water tub, and soak for 3 days and nights. Filter thoroughly and discard the residue. Combine the wine with the residue and bury it in the ground for 3 days to remove the heat toxicity.

Instructions for Use

Drink 3–5 cups each morning and evening, or when hungry. From after the Qingming Festival until before the Frost’s Descent, there is no need to boil the herbs; simply soak them in the wine for 21 days before drinking. Dry the herbal residue in the sun, roast it until dry, grind it into a powder, mix it with honey to form pills, and take them with the previously prepared wine—this is highly effective.
