3 qian of white chrysanthemum flowers, 3 qian of Sichuan pepper, 2 qian 5 fen of rock salt, 3 qian 5 fen of copper patina, 3 qian 5 fen of gallic alum, 1 black plum (pitted), and 7 new embroidery needles (threaded with silk).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, mix with water, and place the mixture along with the needles in a porcelain bottle; seal and let it steep for 7 days. Then, steam over water for 6 hours until the needles have dissolved. Strain out the residue and use the liquid to instill into the eyes.
