Drug Formulation
Cuscuta (chopped into small pieces, 5 dou; boil in 1 shi 5 dou of water until reduced to 7 dou 5 sheng; strain and clarify), 10 jin of malt (crushed; reduce the decoction by 2 dou 5 sheng, soak the malt for 2 days, then bring to a boil), 1 shi of white glutinous rice.

Instructions for Use
Rinse the glutinous rice thoroughly, drain it, and cook it into rice. Once cooked, pour it out and, while it is still at body temperature, add 5 dou of the prepared medicinal decoction and the ground qu. Mix thoroughly, then place the mixture in a jar. Let it ferment for 45 days in spring and summer, or a little over 10 days in autumn and winter. Afterward, drink it in amounts appropriate to the individual’s constitution, 5–6 times daily. Ensure the fermented mixture remains potent; symptoms will typically subside after no more than 3–5 doses.
