Chinese Name : 太玄丹
Drug Formulation
1 qian of white rhinoceros horn, 1 qian of mountain arisaema, 1 qian of Xuanming powder, 1 qian of ephedra (knots removed), 1 qian of dragon’s blood, 1 qian of licorice, 1 qian of Coptis (each ground into powder), and 3 fen of realgar.

Processing
Grind the ingredients into an extremely fine powder. Moisten with ginger juice, wrap in black gold paper, and form two balls, each half a finger thick, using red date pulp pounded into a paste. Place them in a sand pot, seal it with salt mud, and apply heat from both top and bottom. When the smoke is nearly gone, remove from the heat and let cool briefly. Take out the pills, remove the date pulp, and for each 1 qian of the medicine, add 2 fen and a half of borneol,1 fen of musk. Grind into an extremely fine powder, store in a porcelain bottle, and seal the opening with yellow wax.

Instructions for Use
For each use, dip a cotton swab in sesame oil and apply the medicine to the eye; for severe cases, blow it into the nose.
