Drug Formulation
Plum Alum (Select round, large, and crisp green plums; cut off the top with a knife, remove the pit, pack alum powder tightly inside, replace the top, secure with a bamboo skewer, let sit overnight, then calcine over charcoal fire; remove the plum ash, retaining only the alum, which is white as talcum powder and has a very mild, sour taste) 1 liang,Peppermint (preserved with green fish bile, with veins and stems removed) 1 liang, Stiff Silkworm (washed, broken into pieces, with no remaining veins; heads and legs removed; roasted on a tile until crisp) 4 qian, Borneol (ground separately) 4 qian, Child’s Tea 2 liang, Ox Bile 1 qian, Dragon’s Blood 3 qian, Pearl 3 qian, Amber 3 qian, Raw Licorice 5 qian.
