Angelica sinensis, Notopterygium incisum, Safflower, Angelica dahurica, Saposhnikovia divaricata, processed Frankincense, processed Myrrh, Dipsacus asper, Dipsacus asper, Xuanmugua, Penetrating Bone Herb, Sichuan pepper—all in equal parts.

Instructions for Use

For each use, mix 120 g of the powdered formula with 30 g each of Daqing Salt and white liquor until well blended, then place the mixture into a white cloth pouch, sew it securely, and set it aside for later use. For washing: Decoct the mixture in water, then use the steam to fumigate and wash the injured area three times daily. The same decoction may be reused the following day; this method can be continued for 5–6 days.Steaming: Place two medicine pouches in a steamer; after steaming until hot, alternate applying them to the injured area. Steam 1–2 times daily for 1 hour each time. After use, hang the pouches in a cool, shaded place. Before using them the next day, sprinkle a small amount of white wine on each pouch. In summer, the two pouches can be used for 4–5 days; in winter, for 6–7 days.

Note

Do not use this wash if there is damage to the skin or flesh, or in cases of fresh injuries accompanied by severe redness, swelling, heat, or pain. After steaming, avoid exposure to wind and cold.
