Drug Formulation
Cinnabar (select pieces with a mirror-like surface; place them in a white gauze pouch. Combine the pouch with four ingredients—Cimicifuga, Ephedra, Lithospermum, and Forsythia—and place them together in a sand pot. Add freshly drawn water and boil over mulberry wood fire for one day and one night. Remove the cinnabar and grind it into a fine powder. Filter the decoction through thick paper to remove the dregs,float on water to obtain the powder; allow to dry before use) 2 qian; Ephedra (with roots and nodes intact, mixed with wine and honey, stir-fried until charred black) 8 fen; Cicada Shedding (washed with water, legs and wings removed) 3 fen; Lithospermum (washed with wine) 5 fen; Safflower Seeds 5 fen; Pangolin Scale (roasted with wine and mixed) 5 fen; Genuine Toad Venom 3 fen.

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix with vinegar and wine to form pills, and make 10 pills.

Instructions for Use
For a one-year-old, administer half a pill; for a two-year-old, one pill; gradually increase the dose up to three pills. Dissolve in hot wine and administer; cover the patient tightly to induce sweating. Once sweating begins, the smallpox lesions will emerge.
