Drug Formulation

1.5 liang of tiger skull bone (coated with butter and roasted until golden), 1 fen of arsenic trioxide (finely ground), 120 dried peach pits, 7 peach kernels, half a he of pig’s blood from the 12th lunar month, half a spoon of Cold Food Festival flour, and 9 tips of zongzi from the Dragon Boat Festival.

The formula is from *Shenghui* (Vol. 52); the name appears in *Puji Fang* (Vol. 197).

Processing

First, grind the peach pits, tiger skull, and peach kernels into a fine powder; then mix with the remaining ingredients until uniform. On the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, before sunrise, shape the mixture into pills the size of mung beans using millet rice.

Take 2 pills per dose, washed down with freshly drawn water just before an attack begins.
