Processing

Finely chop the ingredients. First, pour the oil into a cauldron and simmer over low heat until fully heated. Add the chopped herbs and simmer until the Angelica dahurica turns yellowish-black. Strain through cotton, wipe the cauldron clean, and place wax inside the cauldron;simmer until the wax melts, then pour the entire decoction into the pot. Add yellow丹, followed by the powdered herbs, stirring continuously. When the consistency is just right—such that a drop placed in water does not disperse—the ointment is ready. Place it in a porcelain jar, seal it tightly, and suspend it at the bottom of a well overnight to remove the heat toxicity.
