Drug Formulation
2 jin sesame oil, 2 liang cypress seed oil (stored separately), half a liang chebulic myrobalan, 6 qian gallic acid, 3 liang Hundred Herbs Decoction, 1 liang black-roasted peony root, half a liang sour pomegranate peel, half a liang Eclipta prostrata, 2 pig gallbladders (stored separately), 1 qian gallic alum.

Instructions for Use
Grind the above ingredients into a coarse powder. First, bring the sesame oil to a boil several times in a pot; then add the herbal powder to the oil and simmer. After a short while, pour the oil into a jar. Once it has cooled slightly, add the cypress seed oil, stir until well blended, and allow it to cool gradually. Then add the following finely ground herbs: 3 qian of Atractylodes, 3 qian of Galanga, 3 qian of Angelica dahurica,3 qian of Gaoben, 3 qian of Linglingxiang, and 3 qian of Huoxiang—coarsely ground, placed in a silk bag, and immersed in the oil. Stir three times daily. After 10 days of this treatment, wash the hair thoroughly with lye water one day in advance; apply the oil the following day. Within a few days, the hair will become black, lustrous, and fragrant, and will never attract dust again, eliminating the need for further washing.
