Drug Formulation

1 deer (male or female; strangle to death, remove fur, and thoroughly clean the internal organs; boil the deer meat until tender, slice crosswise, and dry in an oven to make a powder; take the hide and internal organs, add them to the original broth, and boil into a paste; mix the medicinal powder with the paste to form pills; roast the bones in clarified butter, grind into a powder, and mix with the meat powder and medicinal powder; then combine with the paste and pound; if the mixture does not form pills, add refined honey), 1 jin of ginseng,Astragalus 1 jin, Atractylodes 1 jin, Poria 1 jin, Angelica sinensis 1 jin, Ligusticum chuanxiong 1 jin, Raw Rehmannia 1 jin, Prepared Rehmannia 1 jin, Asparagus root 1 jin, Ophiopogon tuber 1 jin, Dried tangerine peel 1 jin, Fried licorice 1 jin, Polygonum multiflorum 1 jin, Dipsacus asper 1 jin, Eucommia 1 jin, Achyranthes bidentata 1 jin,Goji berries 1 jin, Morinda root 1 jin, Fenugreek 1 jin, Dried Chinese yam 1 jin, Euryale seed 1 jin, Dodder seed 1 jin, Schisandra berry 1 jin, Rubus fruit 1 jin, Paper mulberry seed 1 jin, Cistanche 1 jin, Cistanche deserticola 1 jin,1 jin of Qiushi, half a jin of Sichuan pepper, half a jin of fennel, half a jin of rock salt, and half a jin of agarwood.

Processing

Finely grind each of the above ingredients into a powder, weigh out the required amounts, and mix them evenly. Once the deer-based ointment is prepared, combine the mixture with it to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed, then dry them in an oven. Make 50 small pouches from raw yellow silk, each holding approximately 1 jin, and hang them in a well-ventilated area. Use one pouch at a time, taking another as the first is exhausted. During the humid summer months, it is best to dry the pills over a fire 1–2 times.

Instructions for Use

Take 80–90 pills per dose on an empty stomach before bedtime, swallowing them with ginger tea, salted water, or boiling water; in winter, take them with warm wine.

Note

Contraindicated for those with a robust constitution experiencing inflammation. Contraindicated for wind-cold colds. Avoid raw and cold foods.
