Processing

Take one soft-shelled turtle—preferably weighing over one jin—and soak it in clean water for 7 days. Tie its head and limbs with hemp string, mix it with the herbs, and place the mixture in a jar. Add 3 bowls of water, seal the jar with bamboo leaves, and steam it over water for one day. Remove the turtle, strip away the shell and bones, and roast them until dry; pound the turtle meat into a paste;The remaining herbs are placed in a separate earthenware pot and boiled until dry; mix them with the bones and shell and grind into a powder. For external use, combine 4 liang each of coix seed and lotus seed powder, and form into pills the size of a tung tree seed using glutinous rice paste.
