Drug Formulation

Snow pears (60; do not use sour ones; remove the core and skin; extract the juice) 30 zhong, lotus root juice 10 zhong, fresh raw rehmannia root (pounded to extract juice) 10 zhong, ophiopogon tuber (pounded to a pulp, then decocted to extract juice) 5 zhong, radish juice 5 zhong, sedge root juice 10 zhong.

Processing

Filter the mixture twice to remove the dregs. Return the clear liquid to the heat and simmer, adding 1 jin of honey, half a jin of maltose, half a jin of persimmon frost, and 1 zhan of ginger juice. Continue simmering until it reaches the consistency of thin paste, at which point the paste is complete.
