Zhike Hemorrhoid-Relieving Pills

Chinese Name : 枳壳除痔丸
Drug Formulation
4 liang of large Zhi Ke (pits removed, ground into a separate powder), 4 liang of large Cao Wu (skin and tip left intact, ground into a separate powder).

Processing
Take the fine powder of Aconite and place it inside a pig’s large intestine. Add 4–5 jin of vinegar and simmer the intestine until it is thoroughly tender. Reserve a small amount of the remaining vinegar; pound the mixture until the intestine is soft, then add the Zhi Ke powder and pound again until well blended. Form into pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use
Take 20–30 pills per dose on an empty stomach or before bedtime, washed down with warm rice water. Shortly thereafter, wash the affected area externally with a decoction of stink-toon bark.
Note
Avoid hot foods and beverages.
