Drug Formulation

1 liang 1 fen of Uncaria, 1 liang 1 fen of Scutellaria (black core removed), 1 liang 1 fen of Ephedra (knots removed), 3 fen of Angelica (sliced), 1 liang of Dragon’s Teeth (ground), 2 liang 5 fen of Gypsum (crushed), 1 liang of Red Peony Root (black skin removed), 1 liang of Cinnamon (coarse bark removed), 1 liang of Gentiana (soil removed),Cow Bile (ground) 1 liang, Apricot Kernels (with double kernels, skin, and tips removed; fried with bran; ground) half a liang, Licorice (roasted, coarsely chopped) 1 fen.

Instructions for Use

Take the above 12 ingredients; coarsely grind 10 of them. For each dose, take 3 qian bi; decoct in 1 zhan of water until reduced to 6 fen, then strain out the residue. Add the ground ox bile and apricot kernels, along with a small amount each of honey and bamboo sap, and simmer until it becomes a syrup-like consistency. Take it mixed with the decoction; take another dose after walking 5 li.
