Stiff Silkworm 5 qian, Coptis (both coarsely chopped) 5 qian, Calcium Sulfate 5 qian, White Alum 5 qian, Indigo Powder 5 qian.

Processing

On the first day of the twelfth lunar month, take 5–6 pig gallbladders, fill them with the above herbs, tie them securely, and wrap them in blue paper. Dig a square pit one chi in length and width; suspend a bamboo pole horizontally across it and hang the gallbladders inside. Wait until the Day of the Beginning of Spring to remove them, place them in a drafty area to air-dry, remove the skin, grind the herbs into a fine powder, and store tightly sealed.
