Drug Formulation

Translucent cinnabar (preferably in large chunks) 3 liang (ground to a fine powder, washed with water 9 times); Gui Fu talc (preferably with white deposits) 2 liang (ground to a fine powder, washed with water 9 times).

Processing

Dry each ingredient in the sun. For each dose, use 3 qian of cinnabar and 7 qian of talc; grind into an extremely fine powder and divide into 30 doses. For each use, take 1 jin of Smilax glabra, wash it thoroughly, and crush it. First, use half a jin to line the bottom of a sand pot, forming a small well. Take one of the larger pieces, hollow out a hole in it, place one dose of the medicine into the hole, then cover with the remaining half jin. Add 6 bowls of water, mark the water level with chopsticks, then add another 6 bowls of water,simmer until the liquid is reduced to the original 6 bowls’ mark. Remove from heat and strain thoroughly. Then, use the remaining residue to simmer with 6 bowls of water until reduced to 3 bowls. This process yields a total of 9 bowls of decoction.

Instructions for Use

Take warm at any time during the day without interruption; if a day is missed, make up for it by taking three days’ worth. After completing 30 doses, the condition will never recur.

Note

Avoid alcohol, pig’s head, fermented foods, seafood, tea, vinegar, ginger, pepper, garlic, beef, mutton, chicken, goose, beans, wheat flour, and fish; pork, liver, lungs, kidneys, and duck are permitted.
