Scutellaria and Atractylodes Fetal-Stabilizing Decoction

Chinese Name : 芩术安胎饮
Drug Formulation
Atractylodes macrocephala (soaked in rice washing water overnight, root base removed, sliced, sun-dried, and stir-fried with yellow earth until fragrant).If the spleen pulse is weak, fine, and soft; slow, large, and lacking strength; and external symptoms include poor appetite, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, use 1 qian 5 fen or 2 qian. If the patient is robust, or suffers from qi stagnation and obstruction, with chest and abdominal distension, fullness, and pain, or has a history of “ben tun” or “zhi ju” rising upward, this formula is contraindicated), Scutellaria baicalensis(If the pulse is forceful and powerful with a “Hong” quality, or there is a history of internal heat, use 1 qian 5 fen or 2 qian; if there is deficiency-cold, weak spleen and lung pulses, or vomiting, retching, and diarrhea, avoid use),Angelica sinensis root (wine-washed) 1 qian 5 fen or 2 qian (contraindicated in cases of cough, phlegm, wheezing, retching, or diarrhea; if only diarrhea is present without other symptoms, stir-fry with yellow earth before use), Amomum villosum with shell (lightly roasted) 5–7 fen (3–4 fen for those with internal heat),Raw Anemarrhena Rhizome 1 qian (for those with a constitutional tendency toward internal heat, use 1 qian 5 fen or 2 qian; contraindicated for those with qi and blood deficiency-cold accompanied by retching and diarrhea), Fried Licorice Root 3–4 fen.
