Drug Formulation

Rhubarb 270 liang, talc powder 72 liang, Poria (peeled) 72 liang, raw Rehmannia 144 liang, Gardenia 216 liang, Akebia 72 liang.

Processing

Grind the rhubarb into a fine powder and mix it with the talc powder; coarsely grind the Poria, extract it using 7 times its volume of 25% ethanol via percolation, and concentrate it to a viscous solution of approximately 80 liang;Take the raw Rehmannia and Gardenia, extract them twice using the decoction method, and filter the resulting decoctions; take the Akebia, add 14 times its volume of water, boil for 3 hours, filter the decoction, combine it with the decoctions from the raw Rehmannia and Gardenia, and concentrate to a viscous solution of approximately 300 liang;Separately, take 100 liang of starch and 50 liang of dextrin, mix them with a fine powder of Rheum officinale and other ingredients, and gradually add the concentrated extracts of Poria cocos, raw Rehmannia glutinosa, and others in batches. Stir thoroughly, divide into small lumps, dry, grind into a fine powder, and compress into tablets according to standard procedures, with each tablet weighing 0.3 g. Seal the tablets.
