Drug Formulation

1 fen of Ruiren (soaked in hot water, red skin removed), half a qian of talcum powder, 1 fen of yellow cow’s butter, and a piece of roasted mugwort the size of a chicken egg.

Processing

Grind the first three ingredients into a fine powder in a mortar; adjust the consistency to a suitable thickness so that the powder settles at the bottom of the mortar. Then, light the mugwort to produce smoke, place the mortar over the smoke to fumigate it, and wait until the mugwort smoke has completely dissipated. Finally, use a locust wood pestle to grind the mixture thoroughly, ensuring the smoke permeates the powder.
