Processing

Boil in clear water until swollen, remove the skin, and sun-dry. Crush the yellow clay from a wine jar with a pestle, sift it finely, and mix it with the Trichosanthes root. Stir-fry over high heat until loose, taking care not to burn it; sift out the yellow clay. Grind the Trichosanthes root into a fine powder, or form it into pills the size of a mustard seed using flour paste.

Instructions for Use

Take 1–3 fen before bedtime, protected from drafts, with clear broth or aged wine.
