Drug Formulation

2 jin of redbud bark (select 8 liang of the finest part; the best quality is that which, when chewed during selection, has a camphor-like flavor that penetrates to the top of the head; also known as “slippery vine root”), 2 liang 5 qian of acanthopanax bark (baked dry),2 liang 5 qian of Fichuan Aconite (peeled, used raw), 2 liang 5 qian of Atractylodes (soaked in rice washing water overnight, then dried in an oven), and 4 liang of Trichosanthes seed kernels (sliced with a bamboo knife, soaked in 3-year-old rice vinegar for 3 nights to remove the oil, then dried in an oven).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; form into pills using vinegar paste, each the size of two fish eyes.

Instructions for Use

Take 30 to 50 pills per dose on an empty stomach; chew them thoroughly with a small amount of salt and papaya, then swallow with alcohol free of ash.

Note

Avoid foods that induce wind.
