Drug Formulation

Bupleurum root (Chai Hu) half liang, Trichosanthes root (Gualou Gen) 3 qian, Angelica root (Dang Gui) 3 qian, Safflower (Hong Hua) 2 qian, Licorice root (Gan Cao) 2 qian, Sichuan softshell turtle shell (Chuan Shan Jia, roasted) 2 qian, Rhubarb (Da Huang, soaked in wine) 1 liang, Peach kernels (Tao Ren, soaked in wine, with skin and tips removed, ground to a paste) 50 pieces.

Processing

Except for the peach kernels, chop all ingredients into pieces the size of sesame or mung beans.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 liang per dose. Boil with 1.5 zhan of water and half a zhan of wine until the liquid is reduced to 7-fen. Strain and take warm before meals. Continue until bowel movements occur; once pain subsides after a bowel movement, discontinue the dose.
