Drug Formulation

Raw Eucommia (Du Zhong) 2 liang 2 qian, Licorice (Gan Cao) 2 liang 2 qian, Purple-tipped Flower (Zi Shao Hua) 2 liang 2 qian, Raw Fennel (Sheng Hui Xiang) 2 liang 2 qian, Prepared Rehmannia (Shu Di) 2 liang 2 qian, Raw Aconite (Sheng Fu Zi) 1 liang 1 qian, Huai Achyranthes (Hua Niu Xi) 2 liang 2 qian, Large Fennel (Da Hui Xiang) 2 liang 2 qian,9 qian of Cordyceps sinensis, 2 liang 2 qian of Cuscuta seed, 2 liang 2 qian of raw Rehmannia root, 2 liang 2 qian of raw Cuscuta stem, 1 qian of seahorse, 2 liang 2 qian of Dipsacus root, 2 liang 2 qian of Gastrodia tuber, 2 liang 2 qian of Cnidium monnieri, 2 liang 2 qian of Cistanche deserticola, and 1 pair of sheep kidneys.

Processing

Fry the above herbs in 15 jin of sesame oil until charred, remove the residue, filter thoroughly, and refine until a drop of the oil forms a bead. Then add 90 liang of Zhang Dan and stir until a paste forms;For every 15 jin of ointment base, mix in: 4 qian each of realgar powder and frankincense powder, 1 liang of clove powder, 2 liang 2 qian of cinnamon bark powder, 5 qian of Guangxi wood frankincense powder, 6 qian of raw dragon bone powder, 4 qian of myrrh powder, 2 qian of yangqishi powder, and 4 qian of raw cinnabar powder; stir until uniform. For each large plaster, use 1 liang of the purified oil; for each small plaster, use half a liang.

Instructions for Use

Apply externally: men should apply to the Shenshu acupoint; women should apply above the navel.
