Drug Formulation

5 fen of ox bile, 3 qian of deer antler shavings, 1 qian of agarwood, 1 qian of raw cow’s milk, 1.5 qian of cinnabar, 1.5 qian of realgar, 1.5 qian of “Yueyuehong,” 1.5 qian of white fresh bark, 1.5 qian of frankincense, 1.5 qian of pangolin scale,Divine Water 1 qian (Take 10 jin of mountain-mined lead, cut into 20 thin slices, and affix silver foil to each slice. Prepare two identical pointed-bottom jars. Drill a hole in the top jar; thread a rope through the center of the bottom and suspend the lead slices from it. Fill the lower jar with 10 yu each of rice vinegar and liquor,place a porcelain bowl over the jar opening, seal the jars tightly with dough strips, and heat them over low heat until the alcohol and vinegar have evaporated; the substance retrieved from the bowl is the final product), Ren Zhong Bai 2 qian 5 fen (select from honest rural households free of sores, toxins, or diseases; this ensures the medicine’s efficacy), and processed He Shou Wu 3 qian.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix 5 qian of Shenqu powder with water to form a thick paste, then incorporate the medicinal powder and pound into pills the size of a Paulownia seed. Separately, grind cinnabar into a fine powder to serve as a coating.

Instructions for Use

Take 15 pills every morning on an empty stomach and 9 pills every evening on an empty stomach, washed down with ginseng decoction; goji berry decoction may also be used.

Note

Reduce the dosage as the illness subsides; however, if residual toxins remain, do not discontinue the medication. Avoid strenuous labor and intense anger for 100 days, and follow the seasonal rhythms to regulate your health.
