Instructions for Use

Mix with hot wine and apply as a poultice. If a back abscess occurs in the yin region—or if it was mistakenly treated with cold medications—or if it occurs in the yang region but was treated with cold medications, causing the yang to transform into yin, resulting in the entire back becoming black and gangrenous, apply Hong Bao Dan to the healthy skin surrounding the affected area to contain the center, then apply this formula as a poultice.Cold-type wandering abscesses often adhere to the bones; they are hard internally and do not resolve, causing bone chill and pain, with tendons contracting and unable to extend. If treated lightly with a scalpel or needle, there will be no pus or blood; if only clear breast milk flows, or if there is stagnant blood, this medicine should be applied. Drum-Vertebra Wind arises from internal dampness, residual toxins from cold damage, the deteriorating stage of wandering abscesses, or wind-dampness-induced deficiency-type arthralgia. If the condition has not yet ruptured, the muscles are not yet necrotic; apply this medicine immediately, mixed with hot wine, to the area above the patella on the thigh to alleviate bone pain and restore yang energy. Additionally, apply Chonghe ointment to the cold areas of the lower limbs to draw out the blood and qi, promoting circulation and ensuring it flows downward to permeate the blood vessels. Furthermore, apply this formula to the junction of the shin bones to connect the drawn-out blood vessels and disperse the accumulated yin energy.Internally, use the Zhui Feng Pills, doubling the amount of frankincense to stretch the tendons; take them according to the prescribed method, and there will be no case that does not recover. For men and women who have long suffered from cold bi syndrome and blood wind, resulting in numbness and stiffness in the hands and feet, or an inability to move, place this medicine in the center of a cotton-lined pouch, wrap it tightly with a long strip of cloth around the painful area, and secure it with a silk bag. This medicine can eliminate bone pain; when applied to the flesh, a sensation of ants crawling on the skin indicates that it is taking effect; For bi syndrome, add equal parts of Cinnamomum cassia bark, Evodia fruit, myrrh, and Aconitum carmichaeli; then combine the entire mixture with the Zhui Feng Pills to attack the condition from both the exterior and interior, eliminating the illness with miraculous efficacy. For unbearable wind-induced leg pain, take the Zhui Feng Pills internally and apply this formula externally—mixed with raw flour and ginger juice, heated, and applied as a compress. To achieve immediate relief, follow the method by dissolving frankincense and myrrh in wine; this is the most effective approach. For chronic conditions that have damaged the bones, leading to stagnant blood at the affected site, the disease flares up upon exposure to wind, cold, rain, or dampness; this formula mixed with hot wine should be applied as a poultice. Internally, use the “Searching for Damage and Seeking Pain Pills” to attack the condition from both the exterior and interior—this is the most effective approach. However, for those with deficient blood and qi whose ailments manifest between the chest, flanks, waist, and back—a condition known as “de-gou”—if left untreated, it will transform into blood stasis and chronic fatigue. Regardless of age, whether young or old, the condition may range from widespread throughout the body to an area as small as one fist and a half or an elbow. While medical treatment may yield some results, these are root-cause ailments that cannot be cured with a single dose; over time, the condition may eventually stabilize. To treat a stone abscess, apply this formula mixed with warm wine as a poultice; externally, secure the area with a Hongbao bandage for four weeks, then incise once pus has formed. For breast abscesses in women—whether caused by irregular menstruation, retrograde flow, or internal stagnation of pathogenic factors leading to abscess formation—apply a hot poultice made by mixing this formula with Pinellia tuber, ginger juice, and wine immediately upon onset to dissolve the swelling internally. For urgent cases, add Aconite root; this potent herb can break up malignant masses and expel cold and heat—it dissipates upon contact with cold and ruptures upon contact with heat. For abscesses without pus caused by stagnant phlegm that has lost its proper course, apply this medicine to the affected area; the pus will surely discharge laterally, which is the optimal outcome. Otherwise, it indicates depletion of primordial yang—a fatal condition. In cases of primordial yang depletion, immediately apply the “Complete Jade Dragon” poultice to draw out the pus. For oral treatment, use the “Tongshun San” formula augmented with Platycodon, Pinellia, Angelica, and Cinnamon. In cases of abdominal abscess, if the initial symptom is lower back pain that is painful to the touch and shifts when the body moves, it indicates a “qi mass.” If the root remains stationary and there is only slight redness and swelling on the surface, it is an internal abscess. Immediately use this formula to expel the toxic qi, transforming it into an external abscess, and then consolidate the treatment with harmonizing agents. Internally, use the Tongshun San formula with the addition of Nindeng; the treatment method is as described above.
