Drug Formulation

8 qian of Lu Dangshen, 1 liang of raw Shan Yao, 5 qian of raw Hangzhou Peony Root, 8 qian of Cornus fruit (pits thoroughly removed), 3 qian of fried Licorice, 4 qian of Ochre (finely ground), 5 fen of Cinnabar (finely ground).

Instructions for Use

First, heat half a zhong of a child’s urine until warm and use it to administer the cinnabar; then administer the decoction. After taking this decoction, if the body warms up, a pulse reappears, and the patient feels heat in the chest accompanied by restlessness, it is necessary to urgently nourish the yin. Use herbs such as Scrophularia and raw peony root, adding licorice to harmonize the formula. Decoct one large dose and divide it into several portions to be taken warm.
