Drug Formulation

Cimicifuga root 2 qian, ox bile 4 fen, raw cow’s milk 1 qian (combined with alum and refined with auxiliary herbs for 100 days), realgar 1 qian (must be transparent and odorless, sourced from old mines), cinnabar 1 qian 7 fen, frankincense 1 qian 7 fen, moon-red flower 1 qian 5 fen, white silkworm pupae 1 qian 5 fen,Chuan Shan Jia 1 qian 5 fen, White Fresh Bark (using only the root tips and ends) 1 qian 5 fen, Guang Mu Xiang 2 qian 5 fen, Cooked Rheum 2 qian 5 fen, Moutan Bark 2 qian 5 fen.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Use 5 qian of Shenqu powder to make a thick paste, then shape it into pills the size of a Paulownia seed. Separately, grind cinnabar into a fine powder to serve as a coating.

Instructions for Use

Take 13 pills every morning on an empty stomach and 9 pills every evening on an empty stomach, washed down with ginseng decoction; roasted rice decoction may also be used. For severe cases, add 3 pills on the 3rd, 6th, and 9th days of the lunar month; those with a weak constitution need not increase the dose. Reduce the dosage as the condition improves; if residual pathogenic factors remain, do not discontinue the medication.

Note

Avoid anger, irritability, tea, and alcohol.
