Drug Formulation

2 liang 4 qian of softshell turtle shell, 1 liang 2 qian of Bupleurum, 6 qian of Scutellaria, 2 qian of Ginseng, 2 qian of Pinellia, 2 qian of Licorice, 6 qian of Cinnamon Twig, 1 liang of Peony, 1 liang of Moutan Bark, 4 qian of Peach Kernel, 6 qian of Donkey-hide Gelatin, 6 qian of Rhubarb, 6 qian of Dried Ginger, and 2 qian of Shepherd’s Purse.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Take one jar of clear wine and mix in one sheng of ash from under the stove. Place the soft turtle shell in the mixture and boil until it dissolves. Strain to remove the residue, then add the remaining herbs and simmer until thickened. Set aside the herbal powder, mix it with the decoction, and shape into pills the size of a tung seed.
