Drug Formulation

He Shou Wu 6 liang (soak in black bean water, boil, sun-dry, then boil again; repeat this process seven times), Huang Bai 4 liang (1 liang stir-fried with wine, 1 liang stir-fried with breast milk, 1 liang stir-fried with children’s urine, 1 liang stir-fried with rock salt water), Pine Nut Kernels (shelled, cleaned; half with oil removed, half with oil left intact) 2 liang, Cypress Seed Kernels (shelled) 2 liang,Cuscuta seeds (simmered in wine until soft, then ground into a powder) 2 liang, Cistanche (baked dry with wine, cleaned) 2 liang, Achyranthes root (washed with wine, stem removed) 2 liang,Asparagus root (core removed, dried in an oven) 2 liang, Atractylodes macrocephala (cleaned, oil-free, stems removed) 2 liang, Ophiopogon tuber (core removed, dried in an oven) 2 liang, Poria cocos (peeled) 2 liang, Fennel seeds (fried in wine) 2 liang, Gan Zhou goji berries (washed in wine, fried until dry) 2 liang, Angelica sinensis (washed in wine, fried until dry) 2 liang,White Peony Root 2 liang, Prepared Rehmannia Root (washed with wine, dried in an oven) 2 liang, Raw Rehmannia Root (washed with wine, dried in an oven) 2 liang, Ginseng (stem removed) 1 liang 2 qian, Astragalus (honey-fried) 1 liang 2 qian.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; add walnut kernels (shells and coarse outer skin removed), grind into a paste, mix with water and refined honey, and form into pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
