Drug Formulation

1 hedgehog skin (burned to ash while retaining its essence), 1 aconite root (roasted, with skin and navel removed), 1 fen of white alum (dried), 1 fen of sulfur (ground), 3 Keduo vine seeds (cracked open to extract the white pulp), 1 liang of pig’s tooth soapberry (peeled), and 1 liang of soapberry thorns (burned to ash while retaining their essence).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; grind walnut meat; add a small amount of wine; and form into pills the size of a paulownia seed using wheat flour paste.

Instructions for Use

Take 5–7 to 10 pills per dose on an empty stomach, washed down with wine; if there is a well-defined ulcer, grind cinnabar the size of a soapberry seed together with about 10 pills, mix with water, and apply the paste to the ulcer; it will heal on its own within ten days.
