Drug Formulation

Wood Fragrance (wrapped in damp paper, lightly roasted, and coarsely ground) half liang; Cloves (stems removed, not exposed to fire) half liang; White Cardamom (shells removed) half liang; Red Beans (roasted) half liang;Musk Nut (wrapped in damp paper, roasted, and coarsely ground) half liang, Black Pepper (roasted) half liang, Aconite Root (roasted until cracked, soaked in boiling water, peeled and pitted, then coarsely ground) half liang, Long Pepper (roasted) half liang, Dried Ginger (coarsely ground, roasted, and washed) half liang,Chebulic myrobalan pulp (roasted, pitted) half liang, Galanga (stem removed, coarsely chopped, washed, and dried) half liang, Dried tangerine peel (soaked in hot water, white pith removed, and dried) half liang,Cardamom seeds (shell and skin removed) half liang, Magnolia bark half liang (coarse bark removed; pound with half liang of fresh ginger, then soak with the Magnolia bark for one night; stir-fry until yellow), Cistanche (soaked in wine for one night, lightly roasted, sliced) 1 liang,Deer antler (remove skin and hair, split into slices, roast with ghee until purplish-yellow, wash clean) 1 liang, Amomum villosum 3 liang, lean mutton (remove tendons and membranes, use only the lean meat) 2 jin (slice thinly; marinate with a small amount each of salt, wine, and scallions for two shichen; blanch in boiling water; remove, press dry; grind into a powder like dried mutton jerky; roast until dry before adding).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Separately, grind Shenqu into a fine powder, mix it with cooked starch paste, and form into pills the size of a paulownia seed; allow to dry.
