Chinese Name : 开结枳实丸

Drug Formulation

Zhi Shi (fried with wheat bran) half liang, Bai Zhu half liang, Ban Xia (washed in boiling water) half liang, Tian Nan Xing (roasted) half liang, Bai Fan (calcined) half liang, Ku Ting Li (fried between paper) half liang, Da Huang half liang, Mu Xiang 2 qian, Hei Qian Niu (powdered root) 2 liang,Large Soapberry (peeled and roasted with ghee) 1 liang, Green Tangerine Peel (white pith removed) half liang (or add 1 liang of Inula flower).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix in the ground black pharbitis root until uniform, and form into pills the size of a tung tree seed using a paste made from boiled wheat flour and ginger juice.

For epigastric fullness, phlegm-induced regurgitation, nausea, retching, diaphragmatic distension, persistent hangover, stagnation of undigested food, distension and fullness in the flanks, difficulty swallowing, shortness of breath, and cough. Jaundice.

Instructions for Use

For isolated abdominal distension accompanied by shortness of breath and excessive salivation, as well as swelling and fullness in the limbs, take 30–40 pills per dose after meals, washed down with ginger soup, until a mild laxative effect is achieved; for women with deficiency of blood and qi, fullness and swelling in the diaphragm, or postpartum injuries resulting in facial and bodily edema and difficulty urinating, take with ginger and scallion white soup; for alcohol-induced jaundice, take with warm wine.

Contraindicated for pregnant women.
