Chinese Name : 里东丸

Drug Formulation

Wulingzhi (roasted until soy sauce-brown) 9 liang 5 qian 5 fen; Fanmubie (fry in sesame oil in a copper ladle until boiling; it is ready when it sinks twice and floats twice) 10 liang; Pangolin Scale (roasted until yellow-charred) 2 liang 5 qian; Earthworm (preferably the “chive-ground” variety; soak in boiling water until tender, then sun-dry within the same day; if not dry, roast over a fire until dry—do not leave overnight)9 liang 5 qian, Jute Ash (chopped, stored in a Yangcheng jar, sealed with salt mud, and calcined over a high fire) 3 liang, Musk 3 qian 3 fen, Fragrant Resin (also known as White Glue Incense or Maple Resin) 2 liang 5 qian, Frankincense (oil removed) 1 liang 2 qian 5 fen,17 ancient five-zhu coins (calcined), 2 liang of natural copper (calcined until red-hot, then quenched in vinegar), 3 qian 5 fen of Aconite (peeled, tips removed, and stir-fried), 1 liang 2 qian 5 fen of whole scorpions (tails and upper hooks removed), 1 liang 2 qian 5 fen of Angelica sinensis (washed with wine), and 2 qian 5 fen of Beijing ink (such as Fang’s brand; aged ink is best; burn until all smoke has dissipated).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, form into pills using wine paste, and coat with cinnabar. Each pill weighs 1 qian 5 fen; these are wax-coated pills (which will not deteriorate over time).

Dissolve in good wine; take in the early morning after a light meal; for injuries to the lower body, take after a meal as well.
