Drug Formulation

5 qian of Da Feng Zi pulp, 5 qian of Mu Bie Zi pulp, 1 liang of Angelica sinensis, 1 liang of fine raw Rehmannia root, 5 qian of Saposhnikovia root, 5 qian of Lithospermum root, 5 qian of Phellodendron bark, 5 qian of Scrophularia root, 0.5 fen of Ephedra, 2 liang of Huang Zhan, and 8 liang of sesame oil.

Processing

Heat the sesame oil in a pot. First, simmer the raw Rehmannia root until charred, then strain out the residue; next, simmer the Angelica sinensis, Fangfeng, Phellodendron bark, Lithospermum root, Ephedra, and Scrophularia root until charred, then strain out the residue; then add the pulp of Da Feng Zi and Mu Bie Zi, strain thoroughly to remove all residue, and simmer until the mixture forms beads when a drop of liquid is held up; finally, add the Huang Zhan and mix evenly.
