Sesame oil 1 jin 4 liang, licorice 2 liang, sesame seeds 4 liang, lithospermum root 2 qian, asparagus root 3 qian, Chinese lily bulb 3 qian, polygala root 3 qian, raw rehmannia root 3 qian, prepared rehmannia root 3 qian, achyranthes root 3 qian, cnidium fruit 3 qian, tiger bone 3 qian, dodder seed 3 qian,3 qian of deer antler, 3 qian of Cistanche, 3 qian of Dipsacus asper, 3 qian of Lithospermum erythrorhizon flower, 3 qian of Trichosanthes kirilowii seed, 3 qian of apricot kernel, 3 qian of Coix seed, 3 qian of Cinnamomum cassia, 5 liang of orpiment, 8 liang of pine resin,2 qian of sulfur, 2 qian of realgar, 2 qian of dragon bone, 2 qian of cishizhi (each ground into powder), 5 qian of frankincense, 5 qian of myrrh, 5 qian of wood fragrant, 5 qian of clove buds (each ground into powder), 2 qian of toad venom, 2 qian of musk, 2 qian of yangqishi, and 1 liang of yellow slices.

Processing
Place licorice in sesame oil and simmer until reduced to 60 percent of its original volume; then add the following ingredients: First, add sesame seeds; second, add lithospermum root; third, add Asparagus root, Ophiopogon tuber, Cinnamomum cassia, and 17 other ingredients, simmering over alternating high and low heat until the mixture turns dry and black; strain out the residue, then add orpiment; fourth, add colophony, stirring continuously with locust and willow twigs until the mixture does not disperse when a drop of water is added; fifth, add sulfur, realgar, and cinnabar, then return to heat and simmer for half an hour;sixth, add milk, myrrh, frankincense, and cloves, then simmer further; remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature; seventh, add toad venom, musk, and Yangqishi, ensuring the mixture remains stable even when a drop of water is added; eighth, add yellow plates. Transfer to a porcelain jar, seal the opening with a candle, and immerse in water for three days to remove the fire toxicity; apply using red silk cloth.
