Drug Formulation

1 qian of Coptis, 1 qian of Rhubarb, 1 qian of Scutellaria, 1 qian of Scrophularia, 1 qian of Phellodendron, 1 qian of Mu Jie (shell removed).

Processing

Finely chop the above ingredients and simmer them with 1 liang of sesame oil until they turn a charred color. Remove the herbs, add 5 liang of pure rosin, and simmer again until it forms a paste. Strain it into water, stir vigorously until it turns golden, then return it to the pot and simmer until warm. Add the following ingredients: the juice of 3 pig gallbladders and 3 qian of verdigris (soaked in vinegar overnight and filtered through cotton to remove residue).

Instructions for Use

Stir thoroughly with a bamboo spatula while still warm, then apply as usual. To also treat sores that do not dry out, adding frankincense, myrrh, and mercuric oxide is particularly effective.
