Drug Formulation

2 liang of raw turtle shell slices, 4 liang of seaweed, 2 liang of Angelica sinensis, 2 liang of Angelica dahurica, 2 liang of Coptis chinensis, 2 liang of Phellodendron amurense, 2 liang of Scutellaria baicalensis, 1 liang of Strychnos nux-vomica, 2 liang of whole scorpions, 1 liang of raw Rehmannia glutinosa, 1 liang of red peony root, 4 liang of Cinnamomum cassia, and 2 jin and a half of sesame oil.

Processing

Simmer until the mixture is reduced to a dry state, then strain out the residue. Continue simmering until a drop of the liquid forms a bead. Add 10 liang of orpiment, 7 liang of beeswax, 3 qian of white wax, and 2 liang of tin powder to form a paste. Then add the following ingredients: 6 qian each of frankincense (roasted) and myrrh (roasted), 6 qian of bismuth subnitrate,2 qian of musk, 4 liang of dragon’s blood, 1 liang of swallow’s nest mud, 2 qian of realgar, 2 qian of cinnabar, and 1 liang of male mouse feces (all ground into powder); mix thoroughly.
