Fresh loquat leaves (hairs removed) 5 jin, Sichuan fritillary bulb 5 liang, lotus seeds (cores removed) 10 liang, Ophiopogon tuber 10 liang, red dates 10 liang, Asparagus root 5 liang, raw Rehmannia root 10 liang, Scrophularia root (knots removed) 10 liang.

Processing

Simmer to extract the juice, strain out the residue, and reduce the juice until a drop applied to a piece of hair-thin paper leaves no shadow on the reverse side—this serves as the standard for readiness. Collect the clear paste; for every 1 jin of clear paste, mix with 2 jin of honey, then pack the mixture into bottles.
