Drug Formulation

4 liang of Pangolin Scale, 4 liang of Scutellaria baicalensis, 5 qian of Lithospermum root, 5 qian of Cicada Shed, 5 qian of Burdock root, 5 qian of Gentiana root, 5 qian of Saposhnikovia root, 5 qian of Schizonepeta, 5 qian of Phellodendron bark, 5 qian of Anemarrhena rhizome, and 5 qian of Forsythia fruit.

Processing

Boil all ingredients together for two days until the liquid is completely reduced. Remove the Pangolin Scale alone, place it in a clay pot, and seal it tightly. Calcine it for half an incense stick’s duration. Once cooled, grind it into a fine powder. For each dose, use 3 liang of this powder, 1 qian of musk, and 5 fen of toad venom, and grind them together into a fine powder.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 fen 5 li per dose, washed down with good wine; for severe cases, take 5 fen; if the pox is about to erupt but has not yet done so, take only 1 fen. In all cases, abstain from food. For patients with deficiency, take with Baoyuan Decoction.
