1 zhan of soapberries (with coarse skin and yellow core removed), 1 liang of Scrophularia root, and 1 liang of Forsythia fruit.

Processing

Combine the ingredients with 5 zhan of water and boil until the liquid is reduced. Select the soft soapberries and chew them thoroughly after meals, swallowing with saliva; grind the hard ones into a fine powder, mix with honey, and form into pills the size of a marble.

Instructions for Use

Let one pill dissolve in the mouth each night; results will be seen in half a month. For abscesses that have not yet ruptured, this treatment will cause them to rupture; for those that have already ruptured, it will facilitate the expulsion of the pus. It is suitable for all cases of swelling, hardness, and pain, regardless of whether the condition is recent or long-standing. For those with a robust constitution and severe hardness, boil the soapberries with realgar in vinegar until they become soft; take a small dose for minor scrofula and a larger dose for severe scrofula.
