Drug Formulation

1 liang of Sea-grape Bark (peeled), 1 liang of Acanthopanax Bark (wild-harvested), 1 liang of White Mulberry Bark, 1 liang of Sichuan Du Huo, 1 liang of Sichuan Achyranthes, 1 liang of Processed Eucommia, Black Aconite Root (roasted, peeled) as needed, 2 liang of Coix Seed (raw), and 1.5 sheng of Raw Rehmannia.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder, wrap them in cotton to form one pouch, and steep in about 1 dou of high-quality, ash-free wine: 7 days in spring, 14 days in autumn and winter, and 15 days in summer. Then strain to retrieve the medicine.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 zhan warm on an empty stomach, 3–5 times a day; while taking the medicinal wine, drink other alcohol as well to maintain a continuous state of intoxication, but do not become heavily intoxicated. For severe cases, do not exceed 2 doses. About ten days after taking this medicine, a severe rash will appear on both legs; it will gradually break open, releasing purplish-black blood. Once dry, apply “Red-Grinding Wind Ointment” to the sores, and they will heal naturally.
