Drug Formulation

Acacia pods (roasted until golden brown) 2 liang, white mulberry bark (peeled) 2 liang,Chuanxiong 2 liang, Atractylodes lancea (soaked in rice wash, peel removed) 2 liang, Angelica dahurica 2 liang, Vitex fruit (flowers removed) 2 liang, Ginseng 2 liang, Heracleum 2 liang, Polygonum multiflorum 2 liang, Saposhnikovia root 2 liang, Sophora flavescens 1 liang, Schisandra 1 liang, Cyperus rotundus 1 liang, Musk half a liang (ground separately), Ephedra 10 jin.

Processing

Remove the roots, shoots, and nodes from the Ephedra; use 3 shi, 3 dou, and 3 sheng of river water to boil it down to 6 sheng. Strain out the Ephedra, let the liquid settle, and then boil it down further to 2.5 sheng. Add the powdered mixture of the remaining herbs. Form 10 pills from each 1 liang and 3 qian of the mixture, and coat them with cinnabar.
